AI & Automation Engineer - AI-First Software Development (f/m/x)
Location: Remote (Germany only)

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-powered applications and automation systems, with AI as a core part of the architecture.
- Develop and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows using modern frameworks and LLMs (e.g., Claude).
- Integrate AI capabilities deeply into software systems (e.g., decision-making, automation, copilots, internal tools).
- Build backend services, APIs, and microservices that leverage AI models.
- Use AI tools extensively to accelerate software development (code generation, debugging, testing, documentation).
- Design and implement end-to-end automation workflows using tools like n8n and custom code.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions.
- Optimize and maintain AI-powered systems for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Support lightweight data-related workflows when needed (e.g., API-based data processing, simple pipelines).
- Document architectures, AI workflows, and system designs clearly.
- Test, evaluate, and improve AI outputs and agent behaviors.
Your profile
Must-haves
- Strong interest and hands-on experience in building AI agents or AI-powered applications.
- Practical experience with LLMs (e.g., Claude) and prompt engineering.
- Understanding of agentic AI concepts (tool use, memory, orchestration, multi-step reasoning).
- Experience in software development (Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js).
- Experience building APIs and backend systems.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively in the development workflow (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code).
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make).
- Basic understanding of data systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to experiment and iterate quickly.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AI agent frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Exposure to analytics tools.
- Experience building internal tools or automation platforms.
